SUE DYMOND - MANAGING DIRECTOR
Sue is the mother of an adult daughter who has Down syndrome. She has been involved in volunteer work for over 30years. She is a very experienced Board member, serving on the AGSO Board as the Aust Chairperson for Alateen, the Committee of Management of the Down Syndrome Victoria, as well as various other subcommittees. Sue is passionate about justice and fairness for all and believes everyone has the ability to make a difference - no matter how seemingly small. She is the founder of iDareU and her dream is for iDareU to help as many people as possible ‘become the best they can be’.
LORRIANE SMITH - ACTING TREASURER
Lorraine has been involved in community work for over 40 years and was one of a team of three who opened an op shop in Lilydale where she worked for over 10 years. Lorraine is an experienced Board member having been a member of the board for AGSO for nearly 10 years, a member of the board for her local historical society for 8 years and on her local church council for 10 years. As well as working at the op shop Lorraine worked as a family support worker with Anglicare and enjoys meeting carers when she attends workshops, expos and fundraising events.
CHRISSY PATERSON - SECRETARY
Chrissy has been in the Marketing and Corporate Communications sector for over 10 years. Primarily she has worked for not for profits and emergency service providers but has now moved into the private sector. Chrissy is passionate about creating a more equitable society and has a history of being involved in the disability sector. She studied a Bachelor of Applied Science (Intellectual Disability) and worked in the industry before changing careers to Marketing. Since moving to the private sector she is keen to give back to her community and joined the Board in 2017 to champion what she sees as a very worthy cause.
CHRIS HILL - DIRECTOR
Chris is a passionate Board Member with a background in the customer service and hospitality industries. Chris has always been involved in her local communities and through her children and grandchildren is active within the local sports community, holding a range of roles from fundraising and team management of the girl’s league to running the canteen. Chris estimates that in the 15 years she has been involved with the local basketball club she has raised over $75,000. Since retiring from her customer service career Chris enjoys organising outings and excursions for the Lilydale branch of the National Seniors, is the President of Weekend Living for Women and a committee member of the Yarra Ranges Council’s Positive Ageing Reference Group. When she isn’t volunteering in her various roles around her community, Chris enjoys travelling both around Australia and overseas.
SHARON DAVEY - DIRECTOR
Sharon is an Author, Coach and Careers Counsellor. She published Awesome Careers for Gen Ys in 2015 and her second book, on job search, will be at the publishers soon. Sharon has been a Careers Counsellor for 35 years and enjoys working with people of all ages to facilitate them creating a satisfying and fulfilling life. She has a Bachelor of Education and a Graduate Diploma in Careers and has held senior positions within the Careers Education field. Sharon is a Master Coach through SMJ Institute and provides coaching to a range of businesses and people. She has a grandson (the apple of her eye) with Fragile X Syndrome and a sister who has been left physically incapacitated by a stroke. One of her past job roles includes being 2IC in a disability organisation. Sharon loves working with people and is delighted to be on the iDareU Board, where she aims to make a difference by obtaining grants for iDareU so it can continue its important work.
